The Netherlands is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, from 5 August to 21 August 2016.
Equestrian
The Netherlands became one of the first three nations to earn places at the Games, qualifying a complete team in dressage by winning the bronze medal in the team event at the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games.[1] The Dutch eventing team also qualified for Rio by winning the bronze medal at the same World Games.[2]

Sailing
Netherlands has qualified one boat for each of the following events upon receiving a place from the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships.[3]
- Men's sailboard – RS:X (Dorian van Rijsselberghe)
- Men's one-person dinghy – Laser (Nicholas Heiner)
- Women's sailboard – RS:X (Lilian De Geus)
- Women's one-person dinghy – Laser Radial (Marit Bouwmeester)

- Women's skiff – 49erFX (Annemiek Bekkering & Annette Duetz)
- Mixed multihull – Nacra 17 (Mandy Mulder & Coen de Koning)
Swimming
Dutch swimmers have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following events (up to a maximum of 2 swimmers in each event at the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT), and potentially 1 at the Olympic Selection Time (OST)):[4][5]
