Nesher Malt

Nesher Malt (Hebrew: בירה נשר) is an Israeli beer. It was the first beer industrially produced in the region of Land of Israel, by "Palestine Brewery Ltd", starting in 1935 in Bat Yam.

The beer is made from various grains except for barley.

Nowadays, Tempo Beer Industries, centered in Netanya, produces the beer.

Beers

There are two types of the Nesher Malt:

"White" Nesher Malt

The "White" Nesher Malt is a Pale Lager beer produced from various grains except of barley. It is a light beer, defined as a Shankbier type. It is the first beer produced in Israel, which was inherited by Tempo when it acquired Palestine Brewery Ltd in 1985.

"Black" Nesher Malt

The non-alcoholic version of Nesher Malt. It is most commonly referred to in Hebrew as "בירה שחורה" (Bira Schora - "Black Beer"), even though other brands of "black beer" are being produced today. It has a sweet taste and is sold in glass bottles of 330 ml or 500 ml and in 1.5 liter plastic bottles.
