Nekketsu! Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes (熱血！すとりーとバスケット ～がんばれＤｕｎｋＨｅｒｏｅｓ～) is a sports video game produced by Technos Japan Corp. and this is the final Kunio-kun game for the Family Computer.
It was re-released for the Game Boy Advance on August 25, 2005 as part of Kunio-kun Nekketsu Collection 1.[2] Due to the limited number of cartridges manufactured and distributed throughout Japan, this game is sought after by Japanese video game collectors.[3]
Gameplay
The game has Kunio, Riki, Godai (from Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari) and Johnny (from Bikkuri Nekketsu Shin Kiroku) in the starring roles. After winning a 15-day trip of the United States through a fictional Japanese game show, Riki has his friends complete in a street basketball tournament. Two hoops appear on each end; the middle and bottom hoops score three point while the topmost hoop gives the scoring team four points. The player's home court is at Niagara Falls and players have their equipment improved after they win a game in "story mode." Passwords allow games to be stopped and resumed in a different gaming session.[3]
Every game is two-on-two with baskets being able to be broken by shots and slam dunks. Opponents include the U.S. Navy, New York, (a team of hip hop-obsessed boys), Florida (a team of researchers at the Space Center), Texas (a team of countryside boys), Hawaii (stereotypical surfer team), San Francisco (a team of very powerful bodybuilders), and Las Vegas (a team of magicians).
