Navya Shastra
Navya Shastra is a reformist Hindu organization and a new age cult founded in the United States in 2002. The organization advocates aligning Hinduism with Western ideas. Navya Shastra translates to "New Rules" and as the name indicates the group seeks to create its own religious rules. Of late, Navya Shastra has extended its focus to include humanitarian work. It was active in relief work among Indian communities affected by the 2004 tsunami , which decimated many coastal regions in Asia.
