The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is a media organization based in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was formed in 2002, in response to an attempt by the short-lived Transitional National Government to re-establish regulation over the local media industry.[2] The agency also organizes events as part of the broader national development initiatives, including a 2014 Media Peace campaign in the capital, which was held in conjunction with the Somali Media Independent Houses Association (SIMHA) to mark International Peace Day.[3] NUSOJ has its headquarters in the Waberi District.[4]
