The National Capital Region - Police Office,[2][3] formerly known as the Metropolitan Police Command, Philippine Constabulary, is one of the Regional Offices of the Philippine National Police.
The police regional office provides law enforcement - police services throughout the National Capital Region and assists the Armed Forces of the Philippines - JTF-NCR[4][5] in deterring attempts to wrest power from the current government.[6][7][8]

Major Operations
1989 Philippine Coup D' Etat
PC-INP Officers and men of the NCRPO assisted members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in quelling one of the bloodiest Coup d'état staged against the Aquino Administration by members of the RAM Members and soldiers of the 1st Scout Ranger Regiment under the command of then CPT DANILO LIM (INF) PA.
EDSA People Power II
Members of the PNP-NCRPO, under direct orders from the Chief PNP, ensured the safe and orderly conduct of demonstrations requesting the resignation of then President Joseph Estrada due to allegations of betraying the public's trust and involvement in several cases of graft and corruption.
1 May Riots
Members of the NCRPO Public Safety Battalions, Regional Special Action Units, and District Civil-Disturbance Units augmented members of the Presidential Security Group in a desperate attempt to suppress and quell big group of rioters instigated by members of the "EDSA III Movement". NCRPO Policemen also served the arrest warrants issued to the instigators this violent protest rally.
Oakwood Mutiny (2003)
On 27 July 2003 - Police Officers and Enlisted Policemen of the NCRPO augmented forces of then AFP Joint Task Force - Libra in quelling the attempt of several disgruntled officers of the Philippine military to wrest power from the government of then Philippine President - Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Manila Peninsula Siege (2006)
P/DIR GEARY BARIAS PNP, then Regional Director of NCRPO, directed his men in stopping a second attempt by several disgruntled officers of the Philippine military in taking over control of the government. Under orders from then President Gloria Arroyo, Director Barrias ended the mutiny which resulted to the arrest of the perpetrators.
Controversies
Manila Bus Hostage Crisis (2010)
The NCRPO and its subordinate unit (Manila Police District) have been heavily criticized,[20][21] both locally[22] and abroad,[23] for its slow response in resolving the Manila Bus Hostage Crisis in 2010 resulting to the death of eight (8)[24] and injury of two (2)[25] Hong Kong tourists when their tour bus was taken over by a former Police Officer of the Manila Police District.
