Nathan Dahm is an American politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. He took office in 2012 and will term-limited in 2024.

Early life

Dahm graduated from Abeka Christian Academy Home School in 2001. His work history includes engineering technician, dean of school and producer. He is currently the owner of a cleaning company.[1]

Political career

Despite coming in narrowly under the top candidate in the Republican Party primary, Dahm won the runoff election and did not face a general election.[2] He assumed office in November 2012.

Dahm introduced numerous gun bills for the 2013 legislative session, including a bill penalizing the enforcement of federal government gun restrictions in Oklahoma and a bill contradicting a federal ban on guns in schools.[3] In 2014, Dahm introduced the "Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act" which would allow firearms to be openly carried without a permit.[4] Talk show host Morgan invited him onto Piers Morgan Live to debate the legislation.[5]

Dahm also sponsored legislation in the Senate to penalize the enforcement of the Affordable Care Act in Oklahoma.[6]
