Nataša Kovačević (Serbian Cyrillic: Наташа Ковачевић; born May 20, 1994) is a former Serbian professional basketball player who played on the wing position. Nataša is a play for all categories of national teams Serbia. During his career he won second place at the U20 European basketball Championship in 2012 and second place in the Championship of Serbia with Partizan 2009.

Professional career

Nataša begin a career of performances in Partizan 2008 year. In the 2008–09 season with Partizan won second place in the Championship of Serbia. In January 2010 she moved to Voždovac. In the 2010–11 season with Voždovac played in the Adriatic League and Serbian League which took ninth, respectively fifth place. The following season, again playing Voždovac. That season is with the Voždovac also played in the Adriatic and Serbian league. In championships eliminated were in the semifinals, winning the bronze medal of the play-off (in season 2011–12 is not played the games for 3rd place).

By the end of December 2012 still represented Voždovac, which played in the Adriatic League, when due to financial problems the club in January 2013 became a player of Crvena zvezda. Together with this team again eliminated in the semi-finals of the Serbian League. In the tie was played on the third-place Crvena zvezda beat Vojvodina with a score of 190:187, winning the third place. In June 2013, she signed a contract with the Hungarian UNI Gyor.[1]

September 7, 2013 driving together with a team of UNI Gyor set match UNIQA Euroleasing Sopron, participated in a road accident, which killed the coach of Gyor Ákos Fuzy and general manager of the club Péter Tapodi. As a result of the injury Kovačević had her left leg amputated below the knee.[2] February 28, 2014 FIBA Europe has been proclaimed its ambassador for young people.[3] Nataša is March 13, 2014. established a foundation that will carry her name, and which, as she said, to help young athletes.[4]

National Team

Nataša in his career represented Serbia in several junior age groups: U16, U18, U19 and U20. From the basketball player to the age of 16 three times (2008, 2009 and 2010) tuk part in the European Championships in this age category. With the representation of up to 18 years on competition of this age category occurred twice (2011 and 2012), in the second case, winning a bronze medal. In the frame under the age of 19 took part in the games played in 2013 World Championships under 19 in the same year, as in previous, also took part in the European Championships for 20 years.
