Narnarayan Shastri Institute of Technology (NSIT)[1] is an engineering college in the town of Jetalpur very near to the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The academic program of NSIT is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE)[2][3] and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University[4][5] (GTU).
About
Narnarayan Shastri Institute Technology, Jetalpur is a premier institution of excellence in Technical Education that develops professionals of high caliber imbued with values of entrepreneurship, ethics, and social responsibility. The institute is established in 2008 with an aim to be Leading Lights in Gujarat and to create national and Global Technical Men-power. The institute is blessed by Acharya Shree Koshlendraprasadji Maharaj and Acharya Shree Tejendraprasadji Maharaj and is connected with Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Kalupur. It is functioning under "Swaminarayan Vividh Seva Niketan Trust - Jetalpur". It admits students from all over the Gujarat as well as other states of India to the Bachelor of Engineering and imparts training to make them competent, motivated Engineers, Leaders, Thinkers and Scientists. The academic program of NSIT is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU).[3]
At its establishment in 2008, the institute comprised Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. Thereafter the institute has been expanded with inclusion of two new departments in the fields of Civil Engineering and Automobile Engineering.
The Management has decided to expand the institute horizontally and vertically in coming years by following the word of Lord Swaminarayan. Moreover, Institute will introduce Master Degree Programs like MBA, MCA and M.E. Our aim is to lead the institute towards University.

UG Programmes
The institute offers undergraduate courses in eight branches of engineering and thus is the training ground for the would-be technocrats. The under graduate programs in the institute uses pedagogy which infuses practical learning through industry based project and application based approach to the theoretical concepts. The process of learning in the Institute through its rigorous training prepare the student to meet the challenges of their career . It builds in the student a creative instinct .A proper grooming of their overall personality prepares them for a confident tomorrow.
The college offers six undergraduate courses leading to Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degrees:[6]

The college offers two postgraduate courses leading to Master of Engineering (M.E.) degrees:[7]

Campus
The Institute campus extends over large area having natural beauty and well maintained gardens and is situated close to Swaminarayan Mandir - Jetalpur. The campus is divided into various functional zones like hostel, Main College Building, Administration Block. In addition to Lecture Rooms, tutorial rooms and drawing halls, the institute has an Auditorium, library, computer centre, reading rooms, workshops and well equipped laboratories. The college has spacious playgrounds and gymnasium.
Infrastructure
- Provide an infrastructure to match the desired level of excellence. This should include upgrading of classrooms with modern teaching aids and ergonomically designed furniture, modern faculty offices, student common areas, auditorium and other necessary facilities.
- Develop an environment-friendly campus.
Teaching & Learning
- Upgrade teaching and evaluation methodologies to the standards of the leading institutions.
- Provide students with an educational experience that develops in them the capacities for creativity, critical judgement, effective communication, and in-depth knowledge. This includes developing teaching curricula with four specific foci, namely: design focus, technology focus, information and communication technology focus, and focus on skills in experiments.
- Enhance the interaction with industry in teaching programs through guest lectures, seminars, adjunct faculty programs, and industrial internships for students.
- Induct high-caliber faculty and to upgrade the general level of faculty, their skills and qualifications to seek excellence in performance and to inculcate commitment towards the fulfillment of the mission.
- Ensure effective evaluation of teaching curricula, and co-curricular learning opportunities of students.
Support System
- Revamp the administration for providing efficient and responsive support for all activities of the College.
- Simplify the procedures and increase awareness towards individual accountability.
- Develop support system for students that will offer reliable services, including academic and social counselling.
- Create support system for faculty teaching. This includes an effective and prompt academic office, a facility for pedagogic support and guidance.
- Install mechanisms and systems to motivate and reward support staff.
Facilities
The college has computer labs with more than 168 computers, a Workshop and with well-equipped laboratories. There is library to provide books to students and faculty, and a canteen as well sports room with Tablet Tennis, Chess Board, Carom and Gymnasium. There is an auditorium is used for technical events, lectures and seminars.
Students of Computer Science and Engineering department has developed own "Result" Portal system for result announcement NSIT result portal system[8]

Future Goals
- Increase the student strength to cater the needs of the entrepreneurship and society.
- Undergo expansion by offering new programs of ME, MBA, MCA dual degree and lead the institute towards the University.
- Take initiatives to rationalize the staff strength by increasing at certain levels and outsourcing at other levels.
- Publish an average of two conference papers and /or one refereed journal paper per faculty per year.
- Engage with industry and alumni through annual meets in each department.
- Organize one short course and one workshop/seminar/conference by each department every year.
- To provide quality engineers with practical skills.
