Nairsan is an upcoming Japanese historical film based on the legendary Indian freedom fighter A. M. Nair, popularly known as Nair-san in Japan. The film was renamed to Dauntless: Force-A.[1] The film stars Mohanlal as Nair San in lead and Jackie Chan in supporting role.[2] The film will be made in the Japanese, and English languages while the film is also expected to be dubbed into Mandarin, Mongolian, Tamil, and Hindi.[3] A. R. Rahman will be composing the score for the film and he will do various soundtracks for the different versions.[4]

Plot

Nair-san lived from 1905 to 1990. His father was a Tamil Brahmin and mother was a Nair. He was born and did his schooling in Trivandrum, Kerala. During school days Nair-san and his friends fought against the British rule in India. So he was forced to leave India to Japan and continued the fight against British rule there.[5] For his service to the Japanese people Nair-san later obtained a civilian merit from Japan, The Order of the Sacred Treasure (Japanese: 瑞宝章, Zuihōshō).[6]

Production

Mohan lal was said to have a shooting day total of 160 days. He needed to prepare his body for this role.[3] Jackie Chans team will also choreograph the fighting scenes JC Stunt Team venture.[1] Contrary to recent hyping media reports, Jackie Chan was cast early in pre-production.[6] Mohanlal confirms, that he learned Japanese and Mandarin, because he will dub himself in these languages, because of his easiness in acting. Nevertheless Mohanlal enjoys shooting the film because of his father's and his own personal relationship with Nair San.[3][6] The film will be shot in various Asian countries, specifically in Mongolia, Japan and Kerala, India [6] A. R. Rahman is reportedly producing a multi-lingual score for the movie, including Japanese songs as well as one Mongolian language song,[7] which is set in the Gobi Desert. This is the third time A. R. Rahman is working with Mohanlal after Yodha and Iruvar and the first time with Jackie Chan. There have been reports that A. R. Rahman is not composing music for the movie;[8][9] However off late there was a report suggesting that the film production would commence towards the end of 2013. There is also an unconfirmed report that Mohanlal would not be part of the project.
