NCAA Football 2004 is an American football video game released in 2003 by Tiburon. It is the successor to NCAA Football 2003 in the NCAA Football series. The player on the cover is former USC quarterback Carson Palmer. The game is available for play with the N-Gage. Commentators are Brad Nessler, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso. The game is an EA Sports Bio game, and is compatible with other games with the feature (Madden NFL 2004 and NASCAR Thunder 2004, for example).[1]

Gameplay

Gameplay was similar to NCAA Football 2003, but with updated player stats and rosters. Players had their jersey number and position as their names in the game, however the user could name the players their real-life names or other names if they wished. The player could also create their own college for gameplay in the game or Dynasty Mode. If the player named the school after one of the schools in the game, the announcers would announce it in the game, its fight song would be played, and certain school-specific celebrations would be displayed. The game featured new on-field presentation features such as players walking out of their locker room area and then onto the field behind a group of flag bearers. It also featured player touchdown celebrations which could result in a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

GameRankings and Metacritic gave it a score of 93.27% and 94 out of 100 for the PlayStation 2 version;[2][6] 91.33% and 88 out of 100 for the Xbox version;[3][8] 90.42% and 89 out of 100 for the GameCube version;[4][7] and 62.75% and 65 out of 100 for the N-Gage version.[5][9]
