The Myer Classic, registered as Empire Rose Stakes is a Victoria Racing Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race held under Weight for Age conditions, for fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upwards, over a distance of 1600 metres, held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia during the VRC Spring Carnival on Victoria Derby day.[1] Total prize money for the race is A$500,000.
Race history
The registered race is named after Empire Rose, the champion mare who won the 1988 LKS MacKinnon Stakes – Melbourne Cup double.[2]
