My Thoughts is the debut studio album by American R&B singer Avant; it was released on May 9, 2000. All 3 singles were produced, including the top ten hits, "Separated",[1] the cover of the classic René & Angela hit "My First Love",[2] and "This Time", which both became a certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The album debuted at number 45 on the US Billboard 200 and number 8 on the R&B charts. The album has sold 41,675 copies in the opening week, and went platinum by the RIAA, within months. The album includes collaboration by Keke Wyatt and King Sesame, which was not accredited. A landmark in Avant's career, the album has sold a little over 1.3 million copies in the United States and sold 4.4 million worldwide. The album has received generally positive reviews by critics.
