Muzzley is a San Francisco and Lisbon based Internet of Things company.[1] The company gives the end user a single app to interact with all his connected devices. The company's relies all its operation on mobile platforms and third party smart devices. The company is providing the third party devices integrations but also provides API's and SDK's for manufacturers to directly embed [2] into their micro controllers. It's not formally known if there's any special relation with Intel, but there are multiple articles that feature both together.[3][4]
History
Muzzley was founded in 2012 by Domingos Bruges and Eduardo Pinheiro.[5]
In January 2014, Muzzley received $2.5m in Seed venture capital funding, led by Portugal Ventures.[6] The investment was also backed by Espirito Santo Ventures and Plug and Play Tech Center.
In 2014, they nominated Jon Castor as the Chair of the Board and released the second major release of their technology. The first release of the Muzzley was available on Google Play, Apple App Store, while the second one started to support other platforms (example: Microsoft Store). The app itself is known for being compatible with Google Nest, Belkin WeMo, Withings products and Philips Hue Lamp.
