Murray McDowell (born 17 February 1978) is a Scottish professional footballer, who currently plays as a striker for Kelty Hearts in the Scottish Junior Football Association, East Region.

McDowell started his professional career at Berwick Rangers, before moving on to Cowdenbeath. He had an impressive time at the club, and was eventually was eventually recieing offers from Hearts, Southend United and Brentford.[1] McDowell eventually joined the then struggling Scottish Premier League side Partick Thistle.[2] Despite scoring on his debut for the Jags, he failed to make a breakthrough at the club who were relegated from the top flight the same season.[3][4]

After leaving Thistle, McDowell had brief spells at Queen of the South, Clyde, Arbroath and Stenhousemuir.

He eventually moved into Scottish junior football, with spells at Bathgate Thistle, Linlithgow Rose and Oakley United. In August 2014, McDowell moved to junior side Kelty Hearts. McDowell is also a certified personal fitness trainer, working for Good Health in Dundee.[5]
