Murad Saeed (Urdu/Pashto: چودھری مراد سعید خان; born 17 October 1986) also known as Murad Speed is a Pakistani politician who is a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. Saeed was elected to the National Assembly from his constituency NA-29 in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the 2013 general election. He is a native of the town of Kabal in Swat District. He also holds the distinction of being the youngest parliamentarian in Pakistan's history.[1] [2] He is the nephew of Amir Muqam.

Early life

Saeed was born in the kabal region of Swat valley into Ghauri family of Gujjars. Saeed appeared in 2009 for B. Scs (Hons) in Environmental Science but failed in Three papers. According to semester system of University of Peshawar there are two annual chances to clear the papers and after that the student has to give entire examination. However, without prior permission on university officials make up papers were arranged for him. Saeed has submitted an affidavit to Election Commission in March 2013 that he cannot submit his degree as he is waiting for the results of his B. Sc (Hons). He assured the submission of his degree to Election Commission when receive. In March, 2015 a controversy surfaced about the degree of PTI MNA from Swat, was a student of BS (Hons) at the university’s Environmental Sciences department from 2005 to 2009. But according to university administration, Murad Saeed had not passed his final examination, which contradicts his claim of being a "Gold medalist" in his subject. Mr. Saeed then appeared in exams for two subjects on March 2, 2015, after the department of Environmental Sciences made especial arrangements for him violating all the rules and regulations of the university. His attendance wasn't even enough to let him sit in the exam. Vice chancellor University of Peshawar took notice of the incident and ordered that Murad Saeed’s results be held back and formed a committee to investigate the matter.

Political career

Founding of Insaf student Federation

As a student of University of Peshawar, realities came up as a total surprise with the movement for the restoration of Judiciary in early 2007 and then as a shock with the emergency imposed in November 2007 by -the then President- Musharaf.

Murad decided to materialize his words and aimed to fight for the survival of the hope he has been giving through his speeches. 22 November 2007 was when he started collecting like-minded students under the flag of 'INSAF' in University of Peshawar. The date’ now marked as the Inception Day of Insaf Student Federation. Soon the movement reached every nook and corner of the province.

Member of Parliament

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf granted him a ticket for contesting in General Elections 2013 from NA-29. He won by getting 88291 votes. [3]
