Mu2 Scorpii (μ2 Sco, μ2 Scorpii) is a star in the constellation Scorpius.
μ2 Scorpii is a blue-white B-type subgiant with an apparent magnitude of +3.56. It is approximately 517 light years from Earth. This star has 7.0 times the radius of the Sun and its outer atmosphere has an effective temperature of 23,113 K.[1]
In Chinese astronomy, Mu2 Scorpii is called 神宮, Pinyin: Shéngōng, meaning Changing Room, because this star is marking itself and stand alone in Changing Room asterism, Tail mansion (see : Chinese constellation).[2] 神宮 (Shéngōng), westernized into Shing Kung, but the name Shing Kung was designated for the formation was applied to the stars of the tail (of Scorpio) by R.H. Allen and the meaning is "a Divine Temple."[3]
