Mrityunjay (TV series)

Mrityunjay is an Indian television series based on the celebrated Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant, produced by Jamshaid Ashraf[1] and directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi.[2] It was telecast on Doordarshan in 1996.[3] The series takes a look at the events in the Mahabharata from the perspective of Karna, a major character in the epic. The thought was originally taken from M.M.Singh and D.K.Gupta.

Though the series garnered many awards at the 3rd Screen Videocon Awards including Best Serial, Best Director (Dwivedi) and Best Art Direction (Muneesh Sappel),[4][5][6] it was abruptly terminated for unknown reasons.[7]
