Mozo (Money zone) is a comparison website comparing banking and insurance products to help Aussies find a better deal. Mozo compares home loans, credit cards, personal loans, savings products, bank accounts, car loans, travel money and insurance products.^[1]

Financial product comparison

As of 2014, Mozo compares over 1,800 financial products from more than 180 providers, including all Australian banks, all mutuals with at least A$500 million in assets, all prominent non-bank lenders, and a range of smaller credit unions, building societies and non-banks. Mozo compares over 500 home loans from 81 lenders, 208 credit cards from 57 providers and hundreds of personal loans, savings products, bank accounts, insurance policies, travel money products and more.^[2]

Rate & Review

Mozo gives users the opportunity to share reviews and opinions on Australian financial products and providers.^[3] By 2014, around 100,000 people had rated their banking provider in this section of the site.

Mozo Awards

Each year, Mozo awards Australia’s best financial institutions based on customer reviews. The Mozo People’s Choice Awards^[4] have been running since 2010 and recognise institutions across a range of categories including Best Bank; Most Trusted Bank and Best Credit Union as well as the best providers across six product areas.

In 2014, Mozo launched the Expert Choice Awards, which highlight the best value products across travel money, travel insurance, rewards credit cards, credit cards, home loans, personal loans and savings accounts, as determined by Mozo’s team of research and data experts.

Company History

Mozo was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Sydney, New South Wales. The firm’s founder and managing director is Rohan Gamble who previously established Virgin Money Australia.^[5] Mozo is an independently owned financial comparison website with more than 25 employees, including an inhouse data team. Mozo does not charge financial institutions to be listed in its market-wide product database.

Recognition

Mozo is regularly recognised with industry and small business awards, including Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Award (2014, 2013, 2012); the BRW Fast 100 (2014) a finalist in Anthill’s Cool Company Awards (2013, 2012, 2011, 2010) and a winner in 2014;^[6] and included in Red Herrring magazine’s top 100 companies (Asia and Global) in 2013.

Mozo’s comparison technology is used by major Australian online publishers including News Corp, Fairfax Digital,^[7] eBay and APN. In 2010, Mozo announced a partnership with Australian independent product reviewer Choice Magazine, through its “Compare, Switch and Ditch” financial comparison website.^[8]^[9]
