Mount Pleasant High School is a public high school located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan in the U.S. state of Michigan. It offers college preparatory courses to students in grades 9-12, technical preparatory courses from the Mount Pleasant Area Technical Center (Arts & Communications, Business, Management & Marketing Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Health Sciences, Human Services, Natural Resources & Agriscience), as well as Advanced Placement courses in biology, American history, U.S. government, comparative government, literature, and calculus. In addition, all students may choose to dual-enroll in university courses at nearby Central Michigan University and Mid Michigan Community College with passing/satisfactory results on the MEAP. Mt. Pleasant High School enjoys state-of-the-art academic, arts, and athletic facilities comparable to many small colleges.

Mount Pleasant High School has graduated many notable alumni, including current Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball coach Tom Crean, current Stanford head wrestling coach Jason Borrelli, former Duke University basketball player Vicki Krapohl, PGA golfers Doug LaBelle II, Dan Pohl, LPGA golfers Cindy Figg-Currier, Kelly Robbins. Tito Felix, Drummer for the Metal band, Upon A Burning Body, also Graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. Alumni Ryan Brehm is the all-time record setting medalist at Michigan State University and last year's Michigan Amateur Champion. Alumnus Paul Carey (broadcaster) was a Detroit Tiger announcer for 19 seasons and a Detroit Piston's announcer for 6 seasons. Alumnus Bill Theunissen, an outstanding athlete at MPHS as well as Central Michigan University, was dean of the school of Health and Physical Education for 20 years at Central, and was the university's baseball coach for 10 years; the university's baseball stadium is named Bill Theunissen Stadium after this coach. The MPHS championship baseball program claims numerous drafted players.

Mt. Pleasant High School is proud of its rich academic and fine arts tradition in addition to its athletic success, including Rhodes Scholars (one of whom, Jonathan Beere, is now a professor at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), Marshall Scholarship winners and growing ranks of nationally acclaimed musicians. Internationally known scientists and educators include Robert Knapp, Chairman emeritas of California- Berkeley's Classics Department, world respected ornithologist Francine Cuthbert PhD, Daniel Hole, co-creator of the "Marlboro Man" graphic icon. Retired Longtime Managing Editor of the Mt. Pleasant-based Michigan Oil & Gas News magazine and author of more than a dozen Photo history books aa well as a Michigan historical novel Jack R. Westbrook is a 1957 MPHS alum.

Outstanding Programs.

Business Professionals of America Each year the Business Professionals of America chapter is extremely competitive in regional, state, and national competition. In 2012 the chapter had two National Champions in team competitions: Small Business Management and Global Marketing as well as one National Runner-Up team in Presentation Management. And two Individual National Champions in Medical Office Procedures and Economic Research Project. In 2013 two National Champions in Small Business Management and Economic Research. Plus two National Rummer Up teams in Presentation Management and Global Marketing. In 2014 two National Champion teams in Economic Research and Presentation Management.

Music Mount Pleasant Public Schools are listed among "America's Top 100 Music Education Venues." MPHS' band program, directed by Matt Taton since 2002, and choir and orchestra programs, directed by Brandi Brauker since 2009, have graduated nationally known composers including the award-winning David Biedenbender, Grammy winners John Harris and Scott Allen,[1][2] along with international opera stars having appeared at New York's Metropolitan Opera and Italy's famed Lascala. Internationally prominent musicians include Amy Gillingham (Oxford), Mary Poore, opera star Leann Sandel-Pantaleo and Broadway & film actress Abby Church. Mt. Pleasant High School's choirs have received invitations to perform at Carnegie Hall, appearing there in 2009 and 2013 and will be performing in the Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center in Chicago in 2015.

Various student groups from academe and practicum organizations regularly compete for state and national championships.

In 2009 two Mt. Pleasant High School alumni won Emmy Awards.
