Moulton, Ohio
Moulton is an unincorporated community located in southern Moulton Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, United States.
It is located along U.S. Route 33 between Wapakoneta and Saint Marys. The community is served by the Saint Marys City School District and the Wapakoneta (45895) post office.
The original two-lane stretch of U.S. Highway 33, now County Road 33-A, runs through the community.
Economy
Several businesses remain in Moulton, most notably Moulton Gas Inc. and Swonger's Furniture. The Detjen Grain Company merged with Botkins-based Provico in 1980 (now Wapakoneta-based Auglaize-Provico) and was subsequently demolished in the 1990s after a later merger. FM radio station WERM, later WAXC,WZOQ,WWSR and now WFGF (located in Lima but licensed to Wapakoneta) was located next to Swonger's Furniture. The Midway Drive-In Theater was closed and demolished in the 1990s. The St. Marys-Bellefontaine spur of the Toledo and Ohio Central Railway,later merged into the New York Central also ran through Moulton before it was abandoned in the 1970s with the emergence of Conrail after the bankruptcy of Penn Central Transportation.
