The mottled piculet (Picumnus nebulosus) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in north eastern Argentina, south eastern Brazil, and Uruguay.

Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is becoming rare due to habitat loss.
