Motipur is a town and a notified area in Muzaffarpur district in the Indian state of Bihar.
Location
Motipur is located 102 kilometres (63 mi) north of Patna, 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Muzaffarpur & 54 kilometres (34 mi) south of Motihari. National Highway 28 passes through Motipur. The nearest airport is Patna Airport.
The motipur is well connected with the road and railways networks (Northern Eastern Railway). Railways services is direct connected with the all metropolition city of India. The railways has direct service from Motipur station to New Delhi, Kolkatta etc. and 24 hours passenger service from motipur to Motihari & muzaffarpur.
Major business hub has alomost 20 km surrounded area for the agriculture product trade and vegetable trads etc.

This town has a river Budhi Gandak flowing aside by it.Budhi Gandak is one of the branch of Gandak river.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Motipur had a population of 21,933. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Motipur has an average literacy rate of 43%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 52%, and female literacy is 33%. In Motipur, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
