Morris Ertman (born 1958) is a Canadian playwright, scenic designer, artistic director, and theatre director. He is a Baptist.[1] He is the artistic director of Rosebud Theatre.[2] He had previously been the director of the Edmonton-based Vineyard Theatre,[3] a Christian theatre company.[4] While Vineyard Theatre's director, Ertman stated that most of the people in his audiences were church-goers.[5] He wrote the musical Tent Meeting with Ron Reed.[6] He also wrote a theatrical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden and set it in Alberta.[7] He designed the set for the Canadian Opera Company's 1997 production of Hector Berlioz's Béatrice et Bénédict.[8] In 2007, he directed the Midnight Theatre Collective's production of a theatrical adaptation of The Quarrel.[9] Also in 2007, he directed the Pacific Theatre Company's production of a theatrical adaptation of It's a Wonderful Life.[10]
