Morbillivirus is a genus belonging to the Paramyxoviridae family of viruses in the order Mononegavirales. Currently known species include Canine distemper virus, Cetacean morbillivirus, measles virus (rubeola), peste-des-petits-ruminants virus, phocine distemper virus, and rinderpest virus. Feline morbillivirus is also a member of this genus.
Many members of the genus cause diseases, such as rinderpest and measles, and are highly infectious.
