Moosa Bin Shamsher (Bengali: মুসা বিন সামসের; born on 15 October 1945) is a Bangladeshi businessman, and the chairman and CEO of DATCO Group and has achieved notoriety for purportedly being a prominent name in the international weapons industry during the 1970s and the 1980s.[1][2]

Business

Moosa entered into commerce at a very young age, soon after the birth of Bangladesh as a new independent nation. He established the first enterprise of the DATCO.[3] In 2007, a renowned Malta based CA firm’s audit report revealed by FIU, states that he made $10 billion, mostly from the international arms trading by selling tanks; fighter planes ICBMs and power brokerage that he had carried outside Bangladesh.[4]

In August, 2013 Fuji Television Network Inc. of Japan captured the lavish and flamboyant life style of Prince Moosa in a Documentary that highlighted the rich and famous of the world. The entire filming was done in Bangladesh by a Fuji TV crew, under the direction of Mr. Shunsuke Morita. Its national television premiere in Japan on 17 September 2013, was a massive TV triumph that smashed previous audience records. It was an also a personal triumph for Prince Moosa. He created history by becoming the first Bangladeshi to be featured in any international ‘rich and famous’ TV program. By the end of 2013, the TV documentary will have been screened to billions of viewers worldwide. The Fuji Television Network Incorporated has also featured Prince Moosa in the show’s popular best-selling spin-off tribute book entitled Sekai No Oknemochi Zukan (Top 100 Richest People of the World).[5]

Mr. Kashoggi has also worked with the Bangladeshi Arms Dealer and the Billionaire Prince Moosa Shamser to broker deals in Russia. Prince Moosa Shamser currently lives a lavish but low profile life in Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh. Some reports claim that Prince Moosa is also involved in the Al-Yamama BAE scandal.[6]

DATCO group

Formed in 1974, Shamsher’s business, DATCO, deals in global weaponry, including tanks, fighter planes and ballistic missiles.[1] DATCO is now primarily engaged in the export of labour in the form of migrant rural farmers from Bangladesh to the booming construction industries in the Middle East.[7]

Offering Donation

During the UK 1997 general election it was reported that Dr. Moosa offered the Labour Party and Tony Blair ₤5 million as campaign donation. Although the party declined the donation the offer itself received a lot of media attention.[8]
