Monroe City Schools
Monroe City Schools is a school district headquartered in Monroe, Louisiana, United States. Brent Vidrine is Superintendent.
The district serves the City of Monroe.
William Derwood Cann, Jr., later the interim mayor of Monroe from 1978 to 1979, served on the Monroe school board from 1968 to 1972[1]

2011 duct tape incident
In the autumn of 2011, a first-grade special-needs pupil at Clara Hall Elementary School was reportedly duct-taped to his chair by his teacher. The pupil's mother only heard about the incident when the local newspaper notified her.[2] [3]
