Mongrel Media

Mongrel Media is an independent Canadian film distributor established in 1994. It is the exclusive Canadian theatrical distributor for Sony Pictures Classics and is represented in Quebec by Métropole Films Distribution. In January 2014, it also acquired Canadian distribution rights to 300 film titles from the StudioCanal library.[1]

The company's CEO and founder is Hussain Amarshi, who formerly ran Toronto's Euclid Theatre.[2]

Recent releases in Canada include Payback, released in Canada in March 2012,[3] and The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared, acquired as part of its StudioCanal deal.[4]
