Mondavio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino in the Italian region Marche, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) west of Ancona and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of Pesaro.

Main sights

The major tourist attraction is the medieval castle, designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and built between 1482 and 1492. The design is unusual and the castle is remarkable for the fact that it is largely intact.
