Momentum is the first album released by Toby McKeehan under the name TobyMac.
The album was well received in the world of Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) and was nominated for a Grammy when it was released in 2001. It contains a message of tolerance, in line with TobyMac's personal push for diversity in society.
Musically it has an urban pop sound which HM commented contains shadows of early dc Talk material.[2] Other Christian music artists to appear on this CD include Kirk Franklin ("J Train"), Joanna Valencia ("Somebody's Watching", "Irene", "Wondering Why", "Do You Know"), GRITS ("Don't Bring Me Down"), and Adrienne Liesching ("What's Goin' Down"). This CD prompted a remix album called Re:Mix Momentum, which was released in 2003. There is an alternate album cover for this album.
