Molly Driscoll Hawkey (born August 28, 1978) is an American actress, producer and photographer. She is known for her roles as Lacey Wilcox in the 2007 horror comedy Brain Blockers and Molly in the 2011 drama Higher Ground, which was directed by her sister-in-law Vera Farmiga. She also has starred in various film and television roles.
Early life
Molly Driscoll Hawkey was born in New York City, New York on August 28, 1978,[1] to parents Penelope J. "Penny" (born 1942) and William Stevenson "Bill" Hawkey Sr. (born 1931).[2] She was raised in Ossining, New York and has six older siblings: William Jr., Elisabeth, Adam, Robin, Renn (who was formerly a member of the band Deadsy), and Timothy.[2] Hawkey attended Hackley School, graduating in 1996,[3] and went on to attend Cornell University.[4]
Career
Hawkey made her acting debut in the 2004 short film Hard-bitten in a minor role. She had a major supporting role in the horror comedy film Brain Blockers, which was released in March 2007.[5] She next appeared in the small role of Molly in the 2011 religious drama film Higher Ground.[6] The film was directed by her sister-in-law Vera Farmiga and produced by her older brother Renn Hawkey. She has since guest starred on multiple television series such as Mad Men,[4] Finding Carter and Mom. In 2015, she made her producing debut, with a credit on the series F'd, in which she will also star.[7]
Personal life
Hawkey resides in Los Angeles, California. Through her brother Renn's marriage, she is the sister-in-law of Academy Award-nominated actress Vera Farmiga.[6] She is a member of the Los Angeles-based basketball team the Pistol Shrimps, alongside actresses Aubrey Plaza and Angela Trimbur.[8]
