Mohnish Bahl is an Indian actor working in the Indian film industry and on Indian television. He is the son of actress Nutan and Colonel Rajnish Bahl,[2] and a prominent member of Mukherjee-Samarth family.

Career

Mohnish Bahl started his career as a leading man and done films like Dancer, Bekaraar, Teri Bahon Mein, Meri Adalat, Purana Mandir and Itihaas. But non of these films helped him to stabilize his status as a hero, despite the success of Purana Mandir. Later in 1989, he was reintroduced, this time as a villain in the cult blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya alongwith Salman Khan and Bhagyashree. The success of the film transformed Bahl career and this led to him being a very busy villain and character actor. Other notable villain roles he did was in the 1992 Hit Deewana as the son of Amrish Puri and he was a regular in Soraaj R Bharjatya films Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Vivah repectivley.

It was Salman Khan who suggested Mohnish Bahl to Sooraj Barjatya for Maine Pyar Kiya and later in Baaghi: A Rebel for Love. Bahl has also done important roles in Salman's Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and recently Jai Ho.

Television shows

Mohnish Bahl has also anchored a game show on Sony Entertainment Television channel named Bachke Rehna Zara Sambhalke (30min, Hindi, 13 Hours, 26 Episodes). The show was based on the Russian Roulette format.

Bahl has also anchored a show named Star Vivaah on Star Plus.
