Mohammed Arav Bessaoud
Mohand Arab Bessaoud (born December 24, 1924; died January 1, 2002[1]) was a Kabyle Algerian writer and activist.
Described as the 'spiritual father' of Berberism, "Dda Moh" was a mujahid during the Algerian War of Liberation 1954-62. He was the founder of the Academie Berbere in Paris during the 1960s and the designer of the modern Berber flag. He was the author of numerous books on the war of independence, its aftermath and the history of the Berbers, and he was one of the leading lights of Berberism during the 20th and early 21st centuries.
