Mohammed Aliyu Datti (born March 14, 1982 in Kaduna) is a Nigerian footballer who currently plays for Dessel Sport.

Career

Italy

Aliyu Datti signed his first professional contract with Ravenna Calcio. He made four appearances before moving to Calcio Padova in the summer of 98/99. He spent six months with the club before moving to AC Milan in January of '99. Struggling to find space in the first team for a prolonged period of time, Milan loaned the player out to A.C. Monza Brianza 1912 for the 01/02 season, who were then competing in the Italian Serie B. There he excelled, making 26 appearances and scoring three goals. When he returned to Milan in the summer of 2002, he was quickly moved onto another Serie B side, this time AC Siena and on a permanent deal. After a disappointing season, were he played just 105 minutes of football, he was sold to Belgian side Standard Liège.

Belgium

At Standard Liege, he scored 8 goals and provided a further 1 assist in the 28 games that he played in his first season in the Jupiler Pro League. For the 04/05 season he was loaned out to fellow Pro League side RAEC Mons, where he scored a career high 11 goals and made 4 assists. After his Standard Liege contract expired that summer, he moved on a free transfer to KAA Gent. A disappointing season resulted in a return of just 2 goals in 23 games and he was released from his contract. For the following season, another Belgian Pro League club decided to sign him, this time SV Zulte-Waregem, becoming his fourth Pro League side in four seasons. He was released by SVZW after six months and one goal, only to be re-signed by RAEC Mons, where he was to spend the next 18 months; his role in the squad was mainly a reserve / substitute.

Return to Nigeria

In the summer of 2008, after more than 10 years in Europe, Mohammed decided to return home to Nigeria to sign with Niger Tornadoes F.C..
