Mohammad Ahmed Madwa (Arabic: محمد أحمد مدوة; born February 10, 1987 in Kuwait City) is a Kuwaiti swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events.[1] Madwa is also a varsity swimmer for the Arizona State Sun Devils, and a graduate of interdisciplinary studies at the Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona.
Madwa qualified for the men's 50 m freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 23.02 from the Asian Age Group Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.[2][3] He challenged seven other swimmers on the eighth heat, including three-time Olympian Rolandas Gimbutis of Lithuania. Madwa edged out Venezuela's Jonathan Javier Camacho Riera to take the fourth spot by four hundredths of a second (0.04), posting his personal best of 22.83. Madwa failed to advance into the semifinals, as he shared a forty-fifth place tie with two-time Olympian Jevon Atkinson of Jamaica in the preliminaries.[4]
