There are also reputed to be members of the tribe living in various parts of Afghanistan, and Iraq. They speak several languages including Balochi, Brahui, and Urdu. The tribe believes that they are descended from Rostam, son of Zal, whom they regard as a hero along with the Parthian commander Surena. There is a county in Iran called Mamasani County which is believed to be named after the tribe. The current tribal chief of the Mohammad Hassanis in Pakistan is Sardar Shahbaz Khan Mohammad Hassani
