Modane (Italian: Modana) is a commune in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France.
It was part of the Kingdom of Sardinia until 1860.
Transportation
Modane is home to a railway station for trains from Turin to Chambéry, including TGV to and from Milan.
It is also located at the mouth of the Fréjus Rail and Fréjus Road Tunnels.
