Mit'u Punta (Quechua mit'u, mitu mud, Ancash Quechua punta first, before, in front of,[2][3] Spanish punta tip, point, hispanicized spelling Mitopunta) is a 5,571-metre (18,278 ft) high mountain in the Waywash mountain range in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Lima Region, Cajatambo Province, Cajatambo District. Mit'u Punta lies on a sub-range west of the main range east of Waqshash. It is situated north of the Pumarinri valley.[1][4]
