Miss World Japan (Japanese: ミミス・ワールド) was created in 2013 in response to Japan's then-recent lack of finalists at the Miss World pageant.

History

Japan was started in 1956. Traditionally, the runner-up of Miss International Japan will be competing at the Miss World while the currently winner for Miss International. In 2013 Miss World Japan was created by national holder for Miss World in Tokyo, Japan. The winner of Miss World Japan (MWJ) represents her country at Miss World. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.
