Contestants
Notes:
- In 1984, there were nine preliminary judges who each gave the contestants a score of 2, 3, or 4. This meant that the contestants could receive a minimum of 18 points and a maximum of 36.
- The 1984 rules required that at least one contestant from each continent advance to the top 15 semi-final round. This is why Miss Poland (with a score of 26) did not advance, while Miss Kenya (with a score of 20) did.
