Miss Universe Vietnam (Vietnamese: Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam) is a beauty contest held in Vietnam to select the country's representative to the Miss Universe pageant. This pageant is unrelated to Miss Vietnam or Miss World Vietnamese pageants.
History
The 2008 Miss Universe Vietnam was held at the Vinpearl Land resort in Nha Trang on May 31, 2008. It was the first official Miss Universe Vietnam contest. However, there were no announced plans for future editions as of 2011.[1]
The winner, Nguyễn Thùy Lâm, was host delegate for the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held July 14, 2008, also in Nha Trang. She made the Top 15.
Crown
The Miss Vietnam Universe beauty crown, valued at $12,000, was designed by a Singapore jeweler on behalf of CT group. The crown features many Swarovski Crystals from Austria.
Miss Universe Vietnam 2008
Miss Vietnam Universe took place at Vinpearl, Nha Trang, with 20 contestants participating. The final included four competitions: evening gown, swimsuit, áo dài, and interview. This was the first edition of Miss Universe Vietnam.

The Miss Universe pageants held in Nha Trang in May–July 2008 were organized by Hoan Vu Joint Stock Company (UniCorp), Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) and Cat Tien Sa Event Company.

The winner of Miss Universe Vietnam represents her country at the Miss Universe. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.

- In early 2009, Nguyễn Thùy Lâm became the first Miss Vietnam Universe placed in Globalbeauties.com Top 100 Miss Grandslam.
- In 2010, Miss Vietnam Photogenic 2005 - Phạm Thị Thanh Hằng, who competed in Miss Intercontinental 2005, was invited to participate in Miss Universe 2010. She declined due to lack of preparation time and Vietnam subsequently withdrew from the 2010 pageant.[2]

"[W]ho will represent Vietnam in Miss Universe 2010 pageant?", the VietnamNet newspaper arranged an interview with Mrs Le Diệm Le, marketing manager of Unicorp, the company responsible for sending Vietnamese representatives to Miss Universe pageants. And the answer is "No". According to Mrs Le Diệm Le, Unicorp could not find a suitable candidate to represent Vietnam in Miss Universe 2010, so they decided to drop out of the Pageant.
