Miss Universe 1973, the 22nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant was held at the amphitheatre of Odeon of Herodes Atticus, at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece on July 21, 1973. Margarita Moran of the Philippines was crowned by Kerry Anne Wells of Australia, thus making her the second Filipina to win the title after Gloria Díaz. Moran was also picked as Miss Photogenic during the preliminary judging.[1]

There were 61 delegates from around the world who competed. This was the first Miss Universe event to be held in Europe and also outside of North America.
