Miss United States 2014

Miss United States 2014 is the 14th edition of Miss United States. The beauty pageant took place in Washington, D.C. on July 4, 2014. It was won by a contestant from North Carolina, Elizabeth Safrit,[1] who is also the 2nd runner-up of Miss World 2014 held during December 2014 in London. The contest was attended by competitors from all states and territories of the United States.

Each delegate represented their state, including the territories Guam, American Samoa, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, to compete in four categories: Interview, swimwear, and evening gown categories. Swimwear for the competition was provided by Vizcaya Swimwear who is the official swimwear sponsor of the Miss United States Organization. The top 16 finalists went on to compete in the finals, where they re-competed in swimwear. The top 10 from that round then competed again in the evening gown category and finally the top 5 participated in the on-stage question, that being “With the state of the current economy, how do you justify competing in pageants?”.

Steven Roddy of Pageant Planet and Stephanie McGrane of Pageant Live, the hosts, announced the following finalists: Fourth runner up: Pennsylvania Third runner up: Kentucky Second runner up: Delaware

While the two remaining finalists were waiting to see who won the title of Miss United States 2014, the Miss United States Organization’s new partnership with the Miss World Organization was announced.

After much anticipation, Steven Roddy announced that Miss North Carolina, Elizabeth Safrit, is the Miss United States 2014.
