Miss United Continent, also known in Spanish as Miss Continentes Unidos, is an international beauty contest held annually. This annual beauty pageant, which began in 2006 as Miss Continente Americano (Miss American Continent), and is based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Up to 2012 the participants were restricted to the countries in America; in 2013 participants of world were invited; and the name changed to Miss Continentes Unidos.
The current Miss United Continent is Geisha Montes De Oca from Dominican Republic. She was crowned on September 13, 2014 in Guayaquil by Miss United Continent 2013, Carolina Aguirre from Ecuador.
History
The first Miss Continente Americano Pageant held in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2006. It was won by Mia Taveras from Dominican Republic. The contest Miss Continente Americano is a franchise that was created considering that there was a space in the world of beauty pageants that had not been organized globally in Ecuador. In this event involved the Misses chosen as official representatives of each country in the Americas and attending beauty events in the world: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, among others. This annual beauty pageant, which began in 2006 as Miss Continente Americano (Miss American Continent), and is based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Up to 2012 the participants were restricted to the country clubs in America, in 2013 participants of world were invited, and the name changed to Miss United Continent. Miss United Continent is organized by the Municipality of Guayaquil and Gama TV television, one of the largest in the country, which also organizes the event Miss Ecuador under the management of María del Carmen de Aguayo.[1]
Starting 2014, the contest will be broadcast on Microsoft's Xbox Live online multiplayer and digital media platform for the Xbox consoles, with Xbox Entertainment Studios overseeing production for future contests.
Competition format
Since the start of the contest until today, on the final night all candidates competing in evening gown and swimsuit. After this round of competition, the six semi-finalists are announced, they are competing in the "final question" or interview round. At the end of competition auncia the second runner, runner-up and the winner is crowned by the outgoing queen.

The Miss United Continent pageant continually celebrate diverse winners from different countries. From race to ethnicity, from height to age, or from religion to the number of languages spoken, all the winners generally reflect the global perspective of a beautiful woman of substance.
- There was one time consecutive victory in Miss Continente Americano history: Marianne Cruz of Dominican Republic, was crowned Miss Continente Americano 2007 by Miss Continente Americano 2006 Mía Taveras of Dominican Republic.
- One Miss Continente Americano winner placed as finalist in the Miss Universe pageant. She was: Mariane Cruz — 2nd runner-up, Dominican Republic 2008.
Age records
- Geisha Montes ( Dominican Republic) became to oldest winner at the age of 27 years, 145 days when she was crowned on September 13, 2014.
- Mía Taveras ( Dominican Republic) became the first and the youngest winner at the age of 20 years, 55 days when she was crowned on August 28, 2006.
