Miss Perú 1977

Maria Isabel Frias was chosen as Miss Peru 1977. Prior to her selection she was the Second Runner up in Miss Peru 1975 Pageant. Frias is a professional model and appeared in commercials.

Frias placed among the top 10 at Miss Maja 1976, and was crowned Reina de Playas y Piscinas de América on January, 1977.

She was handpicked by the Miss Peru Organization for both, Miss Universe 1977 ^[1] and Miss World 1977.

One of the seven delegates from Peru who competed at both Pageants, Frias and Madeleine Hartog Bell were the only two who reached the semifinals in Miss World.^[2]
