Miss India is a title that usually refers to

• Femina Miss India, a national beauty pageant in India that selects India's representatives to Miss World, Miss International, Miss United Continent and Miss Universal Peace and Humanity. From 1964 to 1975 the winner of Femina Miss India was sent to Miss Universe and a runner up was sent to Miss Asia Pacific. Later in 1976 Femina Miss India got the franchise of Miss World and three winners were chosen to represent India at Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific. In 1988 Femina Miss India also got the franchise of Miss International and it starting sending India's representative to the pageant as well. In 2002 the 2nd runner up of Femina Miss India started representing India at newly formed Miss Earth and 3rd runner up was sent to Miss International and top five finalist used to represent India at other pageants like Miss Tourism. In 2010 Femina Miss India started sending its winners to Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International and separate pageant I Am She - Miss Universe India held the franchise of Miss Universe in India from 2010 to 2012, the winner was sent to Miss Universe and runner ups to Miss Globe International and Miss Asia Pacific World. In 2013 Femina Miss India sent India's representatives to Miss Supranational and Miss Heritage as well along with Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss United Continent.

• Miss Diva, sister beauty pageant of Femina Miss India that selects India's representatives to Miss Universe, Miss Earth and Miss Supranational. In 2013 at its inaugural edition top three winners represented India at Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Asia Pacific World respectively.^[1][2]

• Indian Princess, a beauty pageant in India started in 2010 that selects India's representative for Miss Intercontinental, Miss Tourism International, Miss Grand International and Top Model of the World. Earlier it also sent India's representatives to Miss Supranational(2011, 2012), Miss Globe(2011, 2012), Miss ourism Queen of the Year International(2011, 2012), Miss Model of the World(2011, 2012), Miss International Golden Skin(2011), Miss Exclusive Of the World(2011) and Supermodel International(2011) pageants.

• Elite Model Look India a model search contest in India that sends its winner to Elite Model Look contest.

• Miss Heritage India, a beauty pageant in India that sends its winner to Miss Heritage pageant.

• India World Miss University,a beauty pageant in India that sends its winner to World Miss University pageant.

• Miss India Worldwide India, a beauty pageant that selects India's representative for Miss India Worldwide pageant.

• Ru-ba-Ru Miss India Elite, that sends its winner to Supermodel International.

• Glamanand Supermodel India, a beauty pageant that sends India's representatives to Face of the beauty International, Miss Tourism World, Miss Globe International and Miss Progress International.

• Femina Look of the Year, a model search contest that sent its winner to Elite Model Look contest from 1994 to 1999.

• Eve's Weekly Miss India , a former pageant in India that sent its winner to Miss World from 1959 to 1966 and to Miss International from 1960 - 1962 and 1968 to 1988 and a runner up to Miss Maja International and Miss Charming International in 1972.

• Bharat Sundari a former pageant in that sent its winner to Miss World from 1968 to 1975.

Till 2013, there were five winners of Miss World who were initially the winners of Miss India, Miss World 1966, Miss World 1994, Miss World 1997, Miss Word 1999 and Miss World 2000, two winners of Miss Universe, in the year 1994 and the year 2000 and two winners of Mis Asia Pacific 1970, 1972 and 2000. In the year 2000, the winners of Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific were all from India. India has one of the highest numbers of International beauty queens.
