Miss Dominica or Miss Domnik pageant is the biggest national beauty pageant for women in Dominica to select the winner to the Miss World pageant.
History
Miss Dominica pageant was held for first time in 1978. Since that year Dominica marked in the Miss World competition[1] and continued in 1985 competed in the Miss Universe competition.[2]
As of 2013, Miss Dominica Organization declared to return at Miss World pageant in Jakarta, Indonesia. The reigning of Miss Dominica, Leslassa Armour-Shillingford represented her country at the pageant.[3]
Competitions
Miss Dominica will compete among the other contestants over the month for a number of awards, including Beach Fashion, Top Model, Sports and Fitness, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent Competition and the World Fashion Designer Award.[4]

The winner of Miss Dominica represents her country at Miss World. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.
