Early life
Miroslava Duma was born in Russia, Surgut, western Siberia on March, 10 in 1985. Together with her parents she moved to Moscow in 1991.
Career
Mira graduated from MGIMO with a Master’s degree in ‘International business and administration’. From 2007 to 2009 she worked for Harper’s Bazaar as special project director. Later she continued her work with various publishing houses including Condé Nast, Independent Media Sanoma Magazines and Axel Springer Russia. In 2007 Miroslava founded a cultural charity foundation ‘Peace Planet’ which organizes exhibitions, conferences, theater and opera performances, activities in the field of artistic, literary and performing art. Also its work is aimed at supporting orphans, the elderly, and people who need medical treatment and education.
Miroslava worked with one of the biggest retailers group in Russia, Mercury, TSUM as a digital media director where she oversaw digital development, marketing, PR, e-commerce, social media etc. Also in June 2011 Miroslava launched Internet company Buro 24/7. The first licensee of Buro 24/7 was Central Eastern Europe with office in Zagreb, Croatia (buro247.hr). Later Ukraine (buro247.ua), Kazakhstan (buro247.kz), Azerbaijan (buro247.az), Middle East (buro247.com/me/), Australia (buro247.com.au) versions and offices were opened. Two offline projects were also launched by the Buro team: the beauty and styling agency “Buro Beauty” and the first café in the Buro chain “Buro Canteen”.
Conferences and speeches: March, 2014 - The Vogue Festival: Miroslava Duma and the digital revolution. The main topic of discussion was social media and Instagram.
May, 2014 - The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Panel of fashion was arranged by Mira for the first time at SPIEF. The panel discussion was based on the $1.3 trillion global fashion industry and the increasing demand of fashion production coming out of emerging markets such as Russia.
July, 2014 - DLD Women Conference. The DLD conference is a global network gathering in Munich, Germany, to discuss innovation, digitalisation, science and culture which connects business, creative and social leaders, opinion-formers and influencers – sparking conversations that cross boundaries and importantly, inspire.
Personal life
Miroslava Duma is married to entrepreneur Alexei Mikheyev since 2005. Miroslava has a son, named George who was born in October 2010 and a daughter, named Anna who was born in December 2014.
