The 2012 Minnesota House of Representatives elections were held in the U.S. state of Minnesota on November 6, 2012, to elect the 134 members of the Minnesota House of Representatives for two-year terms to serve in the 88th Minnesota Legislature. A primary election was held in several districts on August 14, 2012, to nominate major political party candidates.
The social liberal Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) won a majority of seats, defeating the conservative Republican Party of Minnesota, which had a majority since the 2010 elections.[1] The DFL previously had a majority from 2007 to 2011. The new Legislature convened on January 8, 2013.
