The Ministry of Power and Energy is a ministry of the Government of Sri Lanka that directs the formulation and implementation of policies relating to the generation, transmission, distribution and retailing of electrical energy in Sri Lanka. The ministry was also directly involved in numerous large-scale energy projects such as the Norocholai Coal Power Project and the 1999 Hambantota Wind Project.
